Mbalula extends validity of licences, permits for 30 days after lockdown

The minister assured that automobile testing centres and driver’s licence testing centres will stay closed.

Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula introduced that validity of licences, certificates and permits for highway customers had been prolonged past the lockdown for 30 days.

“During the lockdown interval, the validity of learner’s licence, driving licence, motorcar licence disk, non permanent allow, skilled driving allow and roadworthy certificates shall be deemed to be legitimate and shall be prolonged for a grace interval of 30 days after lockdown interval,” the minister stated on his Twitter account.

Mbalula had signed the federal government gazette in March that makes the grace interval come into place.

The minister assured that automobile testing centres and driver’s licence testing centres will stay closed.

The African Transformation Movement (ATM) hit again at Mbalula, who on Tuesday accused the celebration of in search of consideration after they laid a cost towards him.

ATM introduced on Tuesday that it had laid a cost towards Mbalula after he addressed a big crowd on the Noord Taxi Rank within the Johannesburg CBD initially of April.

ATM acknowledged that Mbalula had violated the lockdown regulation which prohibited the gathering of greater than 100 folks, which was later revised to not more than 50 by authorities, as a measure to take care of a wholesome social distance between folks.
