Thabo Bester became South Africa’s most talked about fugitive after he pulled off his generous plan to escape from the maximum security prison, Mangaung Correctional Centre in 2022. He staged his own death by starting a fire in his prison cell and dumping the lifeless body of Katlego Bereng in his place. He then went on to live his life among citizens with his celebrity doctor girlfriend Dr. Nandipha Magudumana.

However, several months after his successful escape, he was spotted shopping in a mall with Magudumana and the love birds skipped the country shortly after their photos trended on social media. Unfortunately for them, two weeks after being on the run, they were nabbed in Tanzania in possession of several passports with different names. They were brought back to South Africa where they have been facing trial for the past few months.

In the meantime, Bester is currently awaiting his next court case in the C-Max section of Pretoria’s Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre, meanwhile, Magudumana awaits trial at the Bizzah Makhate Correctional Centre in Kroonstad, EWN reported.
