SA Student’s Body Returned to South Africa from the Philippines

The body of Snegugu Myeni, a medical student from KwaZulu-Natal who was studying in the Philippines has been returned home. A prayer service was held at a chapel at OR Tambo International Airport, where Myeni’s family finally received her body.

MYENI HAD JUST COMPLETE HER MASTER’S IN PSYCHOLOGY

Myeni was just a month away from graduation when she passed away earlier this month while awaiting to board a flight to return home. Myeni had fallen ill and chose to return home to recuperate.

KZN premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube was in attendance for the service thanked the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the Department of Health and the South African Embassy in the Philippines, ‘for their swift and efficient response in repatriating Snegugu’s mortal remains’.

“Today we come together to pray for Snegugu’s soul and to conform her family and friends. We pray for strength and healing for all who are grieving her loss”, says the Premier.

STUDENT TO BE LAID TO REST AT HOME

The 28 year old’s remains will be transported home by road to Utrecht, near Newcastle. She will be laid to rest on Saturday.
