Kapinga was unveiled by Pirates this week as they continued to bolster their midfield and his agent, says hunger drove him to Soweto.

As local media published in the past few weeks, Kapinga was targeted by several Premiership sides including Pirates bitter rivals, Kaizer Chiefs.

However, the ambition shown by coach Jose Riveiro to win trophies is what lured Kapinga to the Buccaneers’ camp.

“Kapinga is still hungry for trophies and that is the reason he chose to join Pirates,” Mudau told Isolezwe.

“There are other PSL clubs that offered good money on the table but we decided that Pirates are the only club that can help him to achieve what he wants.”
