Lorch has seen a mixture of off-field issues and injuries derail the promising journey he started at Pirates and one that quickly turned him into a fan favourite.

Lorch was part of the Pirates side that has recently returned from a successful pre-season outing to Spain. The Buccaneers returned with an unbeaten record of two wins and a draw from their travels. That will undoubtedly have left the club morale on a high, and for ‘Nyoso’ that can apply to him for a little longer at the very least.
On the 6th of June this year, the Randburg Magistrate Court found Lorch guilty of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. While the player finds out what his punishment will be at the sentencing, Pirates are not going to be slowing down with regards to the finishing touches of their pre-season campaign, however. This publication, the playmaker has been given a bit of reprieve with his case being postponed until September.
That can then allow Lorch to continue focusing on footballing matters, and Pirates are believed to be hoping to aid him in that regard. According to Soccer-Laduma, by offering a new deal.
PIRATES SET TO OFFER LORCH NEW THREE-YEAR DEAL?
“It’s almost done. It’s as good as done. The team wants to keep him for another three years. They say there is nothing stopping them from giving him a new contract and the three-year contract is the best for both parties. As I have said, it’s as good as done. I can say 90% done. They don’t want to waste time anymore at this stage and that’s why they want it done before December. The figures and conditions of the new deal are much better than the ones in the last contract,” said a source to the same publication.
